A member of Russian punk band Pussy Riot serving her sentence in a camp east of Moscow has been transferred to solitary confinement.
Maria Alyokhina was moved to a solitary cell of the Berezniki penal colony in Perm, in the Urals, at her own request, prison officials said.
The 24-year-old was sentenced to two years in prison in August for singing a crude anti-Kremlin song in a cathedral.
She was sentenced alongside fellow performer Nadezhda Tolokonnikova.
The court's decision to sentence them to two years in remote prisons in eastern Russia was widely condemned.
Alyokhina was sent to a prison colony near the city of Perm while Tolokonnikova is serving her sentence in Mordovia.
"Some tensions arose in relationships and, apparently, to prevent this situation from escalating, she decided to submit a request to the prison leadership and they moved her to a one-person cell," a prison service spokeswoman said.
Alyokhina is currently meeting her lawyers to discuss the matter.
Prison officials said she had been moved because she was unable to get along with other prisoners at the Berezniki penal colony, some 715 miles (1,150km) north-east of Moscow.
There were conflicting reports about which part of the prison Alyokhina has been moved into, with some reports suggesting she had been moved to a cell in the prison's punishment block, where conditions are usually harsher than in the rest of the prison.
Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova, 22, were convicted of "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred" over the obscenity-laced "punk prayer" they performed in Moscow's main cathedral, Christ the Saviour, on 21 February.
On 10 October the two women lost their appeal against the sentence, but a third - Yekaterina Samutsevich - was freed with a suspended jail sentence.
This post is written in a very good and entails a lot of useful information for me. I am glad to find a good way of writing the post.
